A geocache is something placed at a specific recorded geographic location.

As an example: A farmer could geocache his tractor's plow at a specific
location and record the coordinates with a GPS. In this way he could share
the coordinates with other tractor drivers in order to locate the plow.

You may wonder why we need a new word. Well, before the demise of SA, common
GPS's were too inaccurate to record a geocache location with enough accuracy
to expect someone to find it. Now we have the tools to make geocaching
possible and reliable. We can now have a new word to describe the act of
recording
coordinates of hidden or stored objects.

Geocache can be used as both a noun or a verb. A geocache is an object or
group of objects at a recorded geographic location. To geocache is to place
these
objects and record their location.

Geocache is to Geocaching as Boat is to Boating. Geocaching is the act of
creating or locating a geocache, it can also refer to a sport or recreation
of
geocaching.

To this end The GPS Stash Hunt project is expected to adopt Geocaching as the
formal name for the sport. Informally we will probably continue to call them
stashes, but for dictionary purposes they will be Geocaches.

Thanks for reading my post. Comments and suggestions please !
