Unless the data are fairly recent, say in the last couple months or so,
the NWS probably doesn't want to deal with it anyway. This older stuff
is "climate" data, which belongs to the realm of the state climatologist
and the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC).

All but two states have a state climatologist (NM and PA). The SC
for Texas is:

P Prof. John Griffiths
Meteorology Dept.
Texas A & M University
College Station TX 77843-3150

Tel: 409-845-8076/5044
Fax: 409-862-4466
e-mail: jfg...@ariel.tamu.edu

John should have the data you need. If all else fails, contact NCDC
in Asheville NC:

e-mail: tr...@ncdc.noaa.gov
or ord...@ncdc.noaa.gov

If anyone needs the info for any other state climatologist, I have a
complete roster I can e-mail. Drop me a note at my address below.

Do not take the above comments about NWS in a negative way.
Each government branch has its proper job to do, and the NWS is
designed to take the observations about the here and now.
They should correctly refer climate requests to the state SC or
NCDC. This is how it works in Indiana too.
