WEEKLY TROPICAL CYCLONE SUMMARY #100: JUNE 27 - JULY 4, 1993

North Atlantic Basin: No tropical cyclones.

Eastern North Pacific Basin (E of 140 Deg. W):

Tropical Depression 3E: Tropical Depression 3E formed near 14N 96W on 27
June. Initially moving northwest, the system turned west-northwest on 28 June
and continued this motion the next day. The system turned north on 30 June,
then it turned northwest on 1 July as it moved over the southern end of the
Baja California peninsula. The depression dissipated early the next day near
La Paz, Mexico. Maximum sustained winds in this poorly organized system were
estimated at 30 kt. Manzanillo, Mexico reported 35 kt sustained winds with
gusts to 40 kt at 2200 UTC 29 June, but this was a brief occurrence during a
passing squall. It is not belived to be representative of the true strength
of this system. Acapulco, Mexico reported a storm rainfall total of 12 inches
(305 mm). Despite the heavy rainfall totals, there are no reports of damage
or casualties at this time.

Tropical Depression 4E: Tropical Depression 4E formed near 13N 99W on 4
July. At the end of the summary period, it was moving west with 30 kt winds.

Central North Pacific Basin (180 Deg. W to 140 Deg. W): No tropical cyclones.

Western North Pacific Basin (W of 180 Deg. W):

Typhoon Koryn: At the start of the summary period, Koryn was moving west-
northwest into south China with 80 kt winds. Koryn turned west the next day and
moved into northern Vietnam before dissipating. Although this system affected
the Philippines, Hong Kong, southern China, and Vietnam, I've recieved no
reports of damage or casualties up to this time.

North Indian Ocean Basin: No tropical cyclones.

South Indian Ocean Basin (W of 135 Deg. E): No tropical cyclones.

South Pacific Ocean Basin (E of 135 Deg. E): No tropical cyclones.
