WEEKLY TROPICAL CYCLONE SUMMARY #43: MAY 24 - 31, 1992

North Atlantic Basin: No tropical cyclones.

Eastern North Pacific Basin (E of 140 Deg. W): No tropical cyclones.

Central North Pacific Basin (180 Deg. W to 140 Deg. W): No tropical cyclones.

Western North Pacific Basin (W of 180 Deg. W): No tropical cyclones.

North Indian Ocean Basin: No tropical cyclones.

South Indian Ocean Basin (W of 135 Deg. E): No tropical cyclones.

South Pacific Ocean Basin (E of 135 Deg. E): No tropical cyclones.

Special South Pacific Ocean Update: Additional information has been
recieved from the Weekly Climate Bulletin on the effects of Tropical Cy-
clones Val and Wasa.

Tropical Cyclone Val (Weekly Summaries #18 & 19): Tropical Cyclone Val
caused severe damage in the islands of Western Samoa and American Samoa.
Twelve people were reported killed on Western Samoa, with 80% of the homes
destroyed. Hundreds of people were reported injured on American Samoa,
while thousands were left homeless and nearly all the crops destroyed.

Tropical Cyclone Wasa (Weekly Summaries #18 & 19): Tropical Cyclone Wasa
affected the Society Islands with high winds and heavy rains that produced
mudslides. Two people were reported killed on Moorea Island.
