WEEKLY TROPICAL CYCLONE SUMMARY #94: MAY 16 - 23, 1993

North Atlantic Basin: No tropical cyclones.

Eastern North Pacific Basin (E of 140 Deg. W): No tropical cyclones.

Central North Pacific Basin (180 Deg. W to 140 Deg. W): No tropical cyclones.

Western North Pacific Basin (W of 180 Deg. W):

Tropical Storm Jack: Tropical Depression 5W formed near 11N159E on 17 May.
Moving north, the system briefly reached tropical storm intensity the next
day. Jack moved northwest as a tropical depression on 19 May, and it turned
west-northwest as it again briefly reached tropical storm strength on 20
May. Jack turned west at depression intensity on 21 May, and the system
dissipated the next day near Saipan in the Marianas. Maximum sustained winds
in this system were 35 kt.

North Indian Ocean Basin: No tropical cyclones.

South Indian Ocean Basin (W of 135 Deg. E): No tropical cyclones.

South Pacific Ocean Basin (E of 135 Deg. E): No tropical cyclones.
