Berlin-Soldner (EPSG:3068) distances as metre ok?

Hi,

I work with data of Berlin (Germany) which uses the Berlin-Soldner
(EPSG:3068) system. Is it ok to treat differences of coordinates as vectors
of a cartesian coordinate system and get eg the distance of two points like
in cartesian space (at least within lets say 5 % error)?

Do you know a reference to cite or to look this up?
