Hey all

For luck, I found this newsgroup. Since half an year I'm working hard to
became a 'chaosist'. The web is a wonderful insturment to find
information about fractals. To find the information easy, a friend and I
are building up something like yahoo for fractals. If you have got stuff
we could put on the pages, don't hesitate to send us the stuff.

Awesome research into web sources! It would take several
weeks just to visit all these sites! If we could only get more of these people
to write up their work and post it on the web as text!
Not everybody loves fractals, but there are a lot of us who do!

Here's an irrational sequence with a rational limit
that I came up with this morning:
( from irrational/rational theory)
let gm=(sqr(5)-1)/2
a(1)=gm
a(n)=1/n-a(n-1)/n^2
Since a(n) gets closer and closer to
1/n, I think the limit is:
a(n)lim=1/n-1/n^2*(n-1)
which is definitely rational.
This is related to Siegel disk functions I think (for iteration k):
F(z)=z^2+z*exp(i*2*pi*a(k))
Each irrational in the sequence gives a new irrational rotation for each k!

It is now a lot better than it was a few years ago. The interest in
fractals has really increased, from introductory teachings in public
schools, to online art contests. But I do agree that several of those
that have done significant research and programming could take that
information and make it more easily accessable via the Internet.
