Weather is not climate.

Climate is the statistics of weather. That includes extremes. To be sure, the
averages and distributions are very important, but, it's the extremes which
both get our attention and have the greatest impact on our lives. Besides,
average conditions almost never happen. Some deniers claim that the record
cold in the Western U.S. imply that there is no AGW, so it's important that
the record warmth in the East also be brought into the light.
GW doesn't seem to be preventing an Arctic outbreak or two.
Today's records won't be available until some time tomorrow.
I just posted yesterday's records. Again, please be aware that there may be
some stations which do not report, as appears to be the situation in Arizona.
>GW doesn't seem to be preventing an Arctic outbreak or two.
Why would you think otherwise? It's mid-winter and the coldest temperatures
are likely now ON AVERAGE. Your post just proves my point about the deniers
pointing to the record cold as some sort of proof that there's no AGW.

There is a line of thought that the unit of action
for atmospheric general circulation is the polar air mass.
LeRoux says an AGW world might be analogous to summer circulation
versus winter circulation. That is, reduced intensity and frequency of
polar air mass outbreaks.
But CO2 forcing can only cause direct warming at the surface and
with respect to inversions. The surface inversion at the poles
can be pretty intense. But a paper I read from the early eighties
deduced that polar air mass formation occurs a few kilometers above
the surface from the suspended tiny ice crystals of the polar regions.
The influence of increased CO2 forcing on polar air mass formation is
not clear. These things are not necessarily reflected in the coarse
global average temperature number.
LeRoux points out an interesting paradox of polar air masses:
the slower they develop, the more time they spend in place at the poles.
So, even though global circ might slow, Arctic temperatures would fall.
Conversely, the faster polar air masses form, the more frequently they
leave the polar regions and in so doing, mix warmer air to the poles.
So a 'colder' circulation can lead to a warmer Arctic,
and a 'warmer' circulation can lead to a colder Arctic.
You mean Marcel LeRoux, who wrote:
"Each day, to some extent, a mass of cold air (more so in winter than summer,
and with greater force) leaves the Arctic, thrown out by centrifugal force.
This mobile mass of cold air is called a Mobile Polar Anticyclone (MPA)..."
http://www.21stcenturysciencetech.com/Articles%202005/NoGlobalWarm.pdf
Thr problem with all this is that the centrifugal forces are balanced against
the gravitational forces, which is the reason the Earth is not quite round.

True.
Of course many who did helped perpetuate and accentuate such nonsense as
the 'Hadley Cell', the 'Aleutian Low', the 'Bermuda High',
and such other meaningless statistical artifacts.
Indeed further research is needed to see whether AGW will induce
nothing more than _colder_ winters at the poles, _milder_ winters in
the temperate latitutudes, including North America, _hotter_ summers,
that would impact drought prone regions such as Africa much more than
the USA, and a mere (according to the IPCC2007 report) 5 cm rise in
mean sea levels over the next 100 years (i.e., trivial changes except
perhaps to those areas like Holland already under sea level).
Further research is needed.

You are a bore, and a very dull one at that. I'd get more pleasure from
running my nostrils down a cactus, than reading another contribution
from you. Maybe you wouldn't be such a Jerk-In-The-Box if you didn't
have that botched back street lobotomy that left you that crisscrossed
shoelace scar on your forehead; if the chief excitement in your
meaningless life wasn't spotting people who are fatter than you are, or
if you didn't have a face that people rub tree branches on to make ugly
sticks. Nah, of course you would.
Please try to have some small idea of what in the hell you're talking
about before you try to post again.
Do you speak any language that non-gibbering idiots can understand? I
suggest you hone your writing skills before applying borrowed glories
as a mere typist.
It's just as well you can type, for if you had to speak your mind,
you'd be speechless. Clearly, the full area of your ignorance is not
yet mapped. We are presently only exploring the fringes of that vast
expanse. Reading your post makes blindness a wonderful thing to look
forward to. As Robert Wilensky said: "We've all heard that a million
monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the
entire works of Shakespeare. Now, thanks to the Internet, we know this
is not true."
Reading your post is less interesting than watching paint dry. If wit
was spit, your mouth would be drier than a shallow well in an African
heat wave. Looking at you, Darwin would NOT be pleased to see how
inefficiently evolution sometimes works. Maybe you wouldn't be such a
Jerk-In-The-Box if you weren't so dense that light bends around you; if
your weren't so fat that the Brooklyn Bridge would collapse if you ever
tried to go Bungee Jumping off of it, or if you didn't have a face that
is registered as a biological weapon. No, come to think of it, you
would.
I'm busy trying to imagine you with a personality. Maybe you'd be less
boring once I got to know you, but I don't want to take that chance.
You are validating my inherent mistrust of strangers.
Now, if you care to apologize for wasting my shamefully wasted time,
I'll consider accepting it.
Anyway, I'm not really good with fools, but a friend who is good with
fools wrote something down for me. Oh, yeah, "Shut your cake-hole,
stupid!"
I discovered to read ONLY the preceeding posts at wherever
he drops his green snot. The posts that "Awe Shit" is responding
to are always interesting, but his, of course, are NOT.

PS:
Hey, "Awe Shit", thanks for the "sorting work" you do for me.
"Awe Shit" listen, don't feel bad now, I still will continue to
crank you, because they pay me for that: $627.-- per word.
Their humongous profits allow them to be that generous.
You are, unbeknownst to you, a hilarious and "easy-money"
generating source for me, and they can write it off as a biz
expense. Costs them zilch. I get that dough. Not the govt.
Now count the words here x $627.-- That'll be my GREEN$$.
Thanks, "Awe Shit".... ahaha... ahahanson

Same here ahahahanson! I get paid by the word too--spamming for Big
Industries--but they don't call it spam--"consulting" is more like it.
And, being offshore (you'll notice from my header--I moved a few years
ago from Californication) I pay ZERO in taxes! Idiot "Awe Shit", if
he's stateside, is paying my share! LOL! I hope to break the $1M mark
one of these days (six figures I've been doing for the last 10 years).
(Meanwhile these Green Idiots like Err-Hick and prolix John are driving
a beat up VW or riding the bus--Roger is about the only Green who has
money here)
later--I got a date with THREE chicks tommorrow (honestly, I've never
had a date with three girls at the same time who weren't working at the
bar, LOL, so this should be a first).
Planning a trip to Havana this year--sex tour--followed by SE Asia, and
maybe Africa (never done that, so it should be experienced at least
once with the opposite sex). Need to find a girl sweet like Janet
Jackson or Mariah but a wee bit younger--18 is about right, LOL--that's
doable outside the US with no problem.

Be sure to have Karl Rove give you some numbers from his little black
book. Oops, Rove has never once been seen in the companionship of a
member of the opposite sex, has he? By the way, which sex would be
opposite to the Pillsbury Doughboy, anyway?
