HILARIOUS QUOTE: And meteorologists in Western Australia are alarmed - that
people might actually trust their senses more than the global warming
models:

One reason the Labor Government wouldn't build water-rationed Melbourne a
new dam in Gippsland was that it was sure global warming was drying up the
rain.

Today's news:

The rainfall in some parts of the state yesterday exceeded the rainfall for
entire months. The State Emergency Service has urged anyone planning a
weekend on the water to be careful, with warnings of damaging winds and
flash flooding in Gippsland.

UPDATE

Heavy summer rain in South Australia, too:

SOUTH Australians are being urged to batten down the hatches as emergency
services wait for strong downpours on the Yorke Peninsula to make their way
across the state.

And meteorologists in Western Australia are alarmed - that people might
actually trust their senses more than the global warming models:

PERTH is off to a cool wet summer, but it is far from the end of global
warming, the WA Bureau of Meteorology says. Just days into summer heavy
rainfall has lashed the Kimberley and south coast of WA, causing havoc on
roads and setting records for December.

"Global warming is a slow long term trend and people's senses can't detect
that necessarily," senior meteorologist at the WA Bureau of Meteorology
Glenn Cook said.

The crazy thing is, though, that it's now at least six years since any
global warming - man-made or natural - was detected by the satellites,
either.

Hear it from Roger Pielke Sr, Professor Emeritus of the Department of
Atmospheric Science, Colorado State University:

Global warming has stopped for the last few years.

Yet our emissions have kept rising.

Odd, no?

And the rain keeps falling, too, right where we could have, should have,
built a dam.

UPDATE

Whichever climate model drew up this map of predicted summer rain for the
Bureau of Meteorology may need revising:
