If you have the time, I would appreciate a response to the following
questions:

1) Do you regularly use the internet as a job related information resource?

2) What method of access do you prefer: Newsgroups, FTP, Telnet, or
World Wide Web.

3) What steel industry related information would you be most likely
to access on a regular basis if it were on internet?

4) What are some of your favorite places for steel industry
information on the net.

Thanks

WWW and Newsgroups

Naturally regular price updates would be of interest. If stockist and/or mills
would post stocklists I would read them regularly as well.

Could not really find something 'hot' sofar.

I prefer to use Newsgroups and E-Mail. FTP and Telnet are terribly slow
here in Brazil. I still do not have access to the WWW, so I can not
evaluate it as a mean to access Internet.

Technical reports and papers, news on new processes and products,
specially about hot rolling.

I know only a few places, and only a month ago I was aware of them.
They are:

   - newsgroup sci.eng.metallurgy
   - newsletter Steel-Talk
   - TMS-Online
   - ASM-Access

I would like to know if there are more sites about steel information
on the Net!

I can only supply a meaningful response to your query about steel info I would
like to see.  I am in interested in locating a net-based source for current
data on steel scrap marketting;  specifically, who is buying what grades, where
they are located and what they are paying.  I am thinking in terms of mills as
opposed to traditional scrap metal yards which buy in small lots.  Also of in

terest is info about what methods of delivery are accepted at the various sites
(train, truck, minimum delivery amount, payment terms, etc.).  Seems that an
up-to-date, on-stop site for this info is long overdue.  If it already exists
and I just don't know about it, please guide me.
