I'm in the process of looking for a university, and was just wondering
if anyone knew of any universities with marine engineering programs,
preferably affordable ones!
thanx

The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy is still free and has a Marine
Engineering program.

Good luck - Bill

Hello.

Here are the one's I know off in the US:

MIT, U michigan, UC Berkeley, U New Orleans --> all undergrad & grad degrees

Webb Institute (NY) --> free undergrad, no grad school

all the maritime academies (Maine, Mass, California, ...)

A good reference is the Peterson Guide to Universities and the Peterson Guide
to Graduate schools. You can also give SNAME (Society of Naval Architects and
Marine Engineers) a call (NY city) I don't have their number handy, but someone
in this group will be able to give you the tel# and address.

Hope this helps,
Cedric

Webb Institute is also free, and has a Naval Arch and Marine Engr.
program. Of course, that is the ONLY program it has...

When you say marine engineering, do you mean just that i.e. ships'
engines and mechanical systems.
Or are you interested in ocean engineering, maritime engineering,
naval architecture, offshore engineering or marine technology.
They are all a bit different, so you might want to go into a bit
more detail on what interests you.
