Thursday, 13 April 2006 (NWBC 148) There IS a problem with
global warming... it stopped in 1998

2006-04-13, 11:15 GMT:

It's Professor Bob Carter, a geologist at James Cook Univer-
sity, Queensland, engaged in paleoclimate research, who is
maintaining this, and he does present strong arguments for
it, as quoted on 09.04 in the Sunday Telegraph, UK, and by
the website Junkscience.com.

ixworld.html

http://www.junkscience.com]

This is clearly a quite important piece of news, considering
the political importance which the "harmful mamnade global
warming" scare hoax attempt by the main ruling reactionaries
has at present. On that, see "'global warming' propaganda"
in my "Subjects in postings" section and the websites linked
to under "On purported 'manmade global warming'" in "Links".
A small part of Bob Carter's article, as quoted by
junkscience.com,

[QUOTE:]

For many years now, human-caused climate change has been
viewed as a large and urgent problem. In truth, however, the
biggest part of the problem is neither environmental nor
scientific, but a self-created political fiasco. Consider the
simple fact, drawn from the official temperature records of
the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia,
that for the years 1998-2005 global average temperature did
not increase (there was actually a slight decrease, though
not at a rate that differs significantly from zero).

Yes, you did read that right. And also, yes, this eight-year
period of temperature stasis did coincide with society's
continued power station and SUV-inspired pumping of yet more
carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

In response to these facts, a global warming devotee will
chuckle and say "how silly to judge climate change over such
a short period". Yet in the next breath, the same person will
assure you that the 28-year-long period of warming which
occurred between 1970 and 1998 constitutes a dangerous (and
man-made) warming. Tosh. Our devotee will also pass by the
curious additional facts that a period of similar warming
occurred between 1918 and 1940, well prior to the greatest
phase of world industrialisation, and that cooling occurred
between 1940 and 1965, at precisely the time that human
emissions were increasing at their greatest rate.

Does something not strike you as odd here? ...

Ah... yes.. Junkscience.com...
The home of the scientific illiterate and flat earther's..

Get fucking real...

Global warming is ACCELERATING.....

Witness all the broken records and the new breed of super sized
Hurricanes... Starting with Frances in 2004...
Followed up by Katrina, Rita, Wilma in 2005..

The evidence is all around you, but you're too ignorant to look for it.

Yes! The rise in the global mean surface temperature has
accelerated. Please see this graph from my post,

Junkscience is aptly named -- it is, indeed, junk science.

It's rather well-known by now that those silly Gore-Bush
stooges the IPCC etc swindlers are writing their bullshit
just to try to make their masters' dreams of scarce and
expensive energy (and thus mass unemployment) come true.

Nope. The Bore-Gushes and their stooges just keep
lying on this. But that bullshit has been refuted
many times already.

No, the Junkscience.com site has some quite good exposures
of several of those science scams which the Bore-Gushes are
launching by means of their media.

As I said, the site is junk science, pure and simple. If you don't believe
it, you are either gullible beyond belief or so biased you would fall over
when you walk.

Looks like Mr. Carter forgot to look at recent data points..
Which shows a continuing upward trend in worldwide temperature..

P.S.. 1998 is no longer consider to be the warmest year on record..
2005 surpassed it..

"World Temperatures Keep Rising With a Hot 2005"
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/10/12/AR2005101202498.html

"2005 Warmest Year in Over a Century"
http://www.nasa.gov/vision/earth/environment/2005_warmest.html

Top 5 warmest years (worldwide) since the 1890's..
(I.E. Recorded history of world temps).

1) 2005
2) 1998
3) 2002
4) 2003
5) 2004

Current data contradicts Mr. Carter's claims..

Your posting at least must get a "10" since it's
completely devoid of contents as to the facts.

It's a good sign anyway, since it shows that the truth
on this question is quite "uncomfy" for certain (rather
few) persons in the world.

Not at all. But there's a BIG political interest in this
BIG "manmade global warming" scam, on the part of some
BIG-TIME reactionaries in the world.
