I would like to build a small PEM fuel cell, the idea is to
practically show that the technology works, not to build a reasonably
efficient or powerful fuel cell. Finances are a bit of a problem.
Anyone know where I could obtain the materials required for the
catalyst, electrode and membrane at the smallest possible cost. All
information and ideas are welcome. Please email me at
boris...@zg.tel.hr.
Thanks
Boris

Hey Boris,
Someone on this board once asked me this question and the results were
grim, but Ihave some new news. Try Dais, they have a website and can sell
a complete MEA for $35.00. Pretty cheap really. I believe you can order
directly online. It's a proprietary polymer not Nafion I believe so I
can't comment on the performance.
Also, try this link I think you'll appreciate it. It might get you away
from having to use the expensive graphite.

Anyway, hope this helps.

I believe the avista labs fuel cell kits are presently the cheapest
available.
They come in around $900 when you add all the necessary parts.

Boris -

Or, you can visit <http://www.plugpower.com> to read about what they are
doing to bring residentially-scaled PEM fuel cells to the market next
year!
