ANY piston or slider single stage steam engine is utterly useless in
that its efficiency is typically one to ten percent.

A 1930 doble steam car is 1200 cubic inch steam per second at 12000
cubic inch per second displacement. 100 HP.
When 20 cubic inches steam 650 psi will push
600 cubic inch water out of a water rocket for 1 second at 500 pound
thrust 200 HP.
The 4 cylnder water rocket fires a cylinder evry second with 10 cubic
inch steam per second .

A 25 ton truck gets 7 mpg and thats 175 mpg per ton. So 175 mpg in a 1
ton car is posible.

Whale engine 1 has a 2 cylinder without the "wheel".
It beets all boats 100 to 1 on the water and all ships 71 to 1 and all
cars 14 to 1 .
Ill claim 1/2 that .
71 HP at 400 MPG.
Thats 32 hours on 1 stove burner and a BBQ grill tank at 71 HP .

rpm is 12000 cubic inch per second or 1200 steam inches .
One square in on the rotor at 500 rpm is 600 cubic inch per second.
10 to 20 cubic inch steam per second is cheep when the car is at 1200
inch per second of steam.
1 cylinder fires evry second .
