Need Equation for PWM
Hi, I'm not a math or electronics genius but I was wondering if anyone could provide an equation that gives amplitude (voltage) as a function of time and duty cycle for a square wave: symbolically: A (V) = f(t (sec),duty cycle (%)) perhaps also the function would include something about the initial phase (phi)......... more »

Reverse engineering masked ROMs, PLAs
Ray Andraka wrote about reverse-engineering ASICs based on behavior vs. analyzing the mask layout: ...Speaking of such things, I have a number of old chips from which I want to extract masked ROM and PLA contents from. Hack ? Enabling the supposedly absent Bluetooth adapter on a Acer Travelmate 6000
Hi all, Little hacking question : My notebook, an Acer TravelMate 6000, isn't supposed to have a Bluetooth built in device. However, I think that the hardware is effectively installed but simply disabled (and invisible) by software. Two things makes me believe that : - I saw a message stating "disabling bluetooth" for a second at first... more »

Easy current measure/recording in power strips?
I'm looking for an inline plug-in type of AC current meter that will tell me how many amps are flowing through a particular power strip - i.e. I'm willing to unplug a power strip from a receptacle, plug in a "gizmo", then plug the power strip into the gizmo. This is a 'temporary' kind of basis... just measurements... more »

Wireless MIDI Device
I've been gearing up to take on a new hobby project, building a wireless MIDI controller. I've done a fair bit of research and I am pretty straight on what parts I need for the task and so on. The one roadblock I've hit is making the setup wireless. The options I've explored are mainly Bluetooth and RF with the latter looking to be more... more »
