I'm graduating in CS soon, I've done some fairly basic electronics and some
interfacing. Is a book really the best way for me (and others wishing to
learn the art) to go. Should we be considering some sort of post grad
electronics course. I assume we would benefit from buying some simple meters
and power supplies and experimenting with old stuff at home. Also is the art
of electronic repair becoming a thing of the past, as more and more circuits
become integrated, micro-controllers are a good example of this. So much of
the repairs I read about in this group, aren't electronic at all. They're
about the mechanics around the electronics eg VCR loading mech's, and surely
the only way to learn this is via, a hell of a lot of practise.
Anyway post the book titles here, as I'd like to hear any suggestions as well.
What about maplins ??. Their projects seem interesting, and you get a
finished product to play with as well.
