Men's Health Research

We are a group of Counseling Psychology faculty and doctoral students
at The University of Memphis who are investigating the causes of men’s
performance of health promoting behaviors. In the United States, men
experience more serious health concerns than women and health-related
behaviors play a large role in morbidity and mortality. In comparison
to women, men engage in more health-risk and fewer health-promoting
behaviors. The existing research on health promotion models does not
explain why men engage in more health-risk and fewer health-promotion
behaviors.

We have a developed an online survey to help us answer this question.
The survey is anonymous, and the university’s research review board
has approved the research project. If you would like to be a part of
this research, please click on the link below and you will be taken to
the online survey. You will have the option of entering a drawing for
