Huh? You leftists seem to have trouble multiplying
number-of-employees times $2K. (And it's worse, it's not number of
employees, it's number of W-2's annually... for a part time industry
with high student turn-over it's a disaster.) Obama's policies will
do exactly as he intends... reduce the US to a third-world
shit-green-or-die country. But you deserve it, you voted for it.
Enjoy >:-}
And, Paul, DO try using your brain... go ask your local restaurateur.

But it does not matter. The one's that are doing the mindless voting are those that want free phones, car's, rent, food, heat and they don't
care about veterans and medicare, because they're mostly undereducated, spoiled shelterd brats that shouldn't be allowed to vote.
Those people haven't a care in the world other than when their next
gov check is coming in. Those are the ones that are going to allow unmanaged and out of control gov to put an end to what ever you think
you may have now.
There will be a lot of crying, screaming and shouting, mostly from those same people however, the rest of us will at least feel a little
better knowing that we at least said "I told you so", even though it won't make any difference.

Ok Jim, so when are you leaving the country? I mean being a SI-Eng,, you
must be kind of rich? I kind of assume that, after looking at the price of some of those BGA FPGA up in the thousands. Destroying one of those
most likely wouldn't even make your eye twitch!
Anyone with half a brain can find that. I showed the Ortmaster website because that is a current product. And one may question your motives and respectability by shifting the focus of this thread to a pissing match and a disingenuous and futile attempt at discreditation.
Face it, Jim, your "side" lost, badly, because of utter stupidity, belief in a fairy tale delusion of superiority, and denial of facts. If you don't like the way things are here, in the USA, you are free to go elsewhere, as Jamie suggests. Or you can work to make the changes you want to see, or against those you don't. But accept the fact that most people don't think the way you do, and your actions only make you seem childish and petty. And if you and other neoconservatives really want to make a difference, you will need to stop alienating those with whom you disagree.
If you stick to your narrow-minded dogma, you will be part of a diminishing segment of the population. If you make a genuine effort to find common ground with progressives and liberals, you may find that most of us are not "the enemy", and we also want things like genuine entitlement reform, simplification of the tax code, support for small businesses, and reduction of government waste.

Become? Leftists have always been bitter, like Slowman.
Nonsense. You want to see bitter - just look at one of the many Republican losers. They were even bitter during the nominations - lots of frowns and stern, hateful rhetoric. Actually, there aren't many true leftists. Liberal progressives are in fact very much moderates. And we are now joyful that we have achieved this great moral victory over curmudgeonly old men who want to exercise puritanical control over our freedom to choose, and people who have been brainwashed to an unprecedented level of mental numbness and inability to think freely.

You describe your self very well.
Enjoy your "moral" victory while you can as it will end in a huge crash as all things that run above unity do.

partisan predictable, and correspondingly worthless.

You and James Arthur both enjoy predicting disaster - which never
seems to happen - while advocating "solutions" which have proved
disastrous in the past. Those who don't understand history are
condemned to trying to make everybody else repeat it.

perfect.

Obama's going to go see why all electricity hasn't been restored in
New England. I think all the out of state crews should just pack up &
go home. Let him go up in a bucket & fix it himself. make sure he
takes Biden & Pelosi with him as observers, ti see just how labor
intensive & dangerous the work is.
At least the police have arrested someone for the assault of a
Florida high line worker. he's back in FLorida with a black eye &
broken jaw. If the out of state workers stay, they should be allowed
open carry to defend themselves from the ignorant, whiny bastards.

Our losses are not quite that high, maybe 20%.
What is definitely noticeable is the drop in quality as restaurants
cut corners to contain costs.

Of course. Since most of my business is currently in Europe (my early
morning) or SE Asia (my late evening), we eat out a lot at lunch time.
We've already dropped two restaurants from our repertoire due to
sliding quality and/or service.
My attitude is the sooner the depression the better. Then everyone
will be revalued according to their true productivity. Then clowns
like PE Schoen will starve while they stand at the altar of the Sierra
Club ;-)

These refused to cut corners, and just closed their doors when their
leases were up. I've only seen one new restaurant open in that time. A
Chinese restaurant that's full of retirees, so you know it's cheap food.

A matter of opinion. Jim-out-of-touch-with-reality-Thompson's opinion
isn't worth much.
> You're one of those worthless leftists with all kinds of wonderful
> schemes to spend other people's money.
As opposed the worthless rightists with wonderful schemes to make sure
that the top 1% of the income distribution gets the whole benefit of
any growth in the US economy. Once the Tea Party had a majority in
congress they were able to tilt that table far enough that all the
economic growth from 2010 to 2011 eneded up in the pockets of the top
5% of the income distribution, whose incomes went up by 5%, while the
bottom 80% went backwards.
The leftists do have schemes to redistribute the rewards a little more
widely, but the aim is to get the economy as a whole to work better
and grow faster. Germany is the model you should be looking at, rather
than Franco's Spain.

Jim-out-of-touch-with-reality-Thompson at the top of his demented
form. Why anybody would waste bandwidth posting such transparent
nonsense escapes me. If Obama's entire intent was to bankrupt anyone
who opposes him, would he have sanctioned the raid on Osama bin Laden
that left bin Laden dead, when bankrupting him would have been so much
more profitable?

I haven't noticed anything unusaul along those lines. Restaurants
have always had a high failure rate. The only one I remember in a
while that went under was a new "diner". It was always packed on
weekends but it was very poorly managed (even though it was from the
same family as a rather famous place in the Atlanta area). On
off-times, the service was *lousy*. My bet is that their landlord put
them under with the rent. Crazy rent.

I haven't noticed that either. Rather the opposite, as competition
stiffens.

Michael Terrell is quite selective about the ignorant shit he will
tolerate. Right wing nonsense is fine. more centrist stuff that he
doesn't want to understand is ignored, or rejected outright - as here.
A fine example of mental numbness coupled to a total inability to
think clearly.

We had a nice little sub shop, Mannies, about 1/2 mile from here. They just closed last month after 22 years in business. Good food too. Things are going to get much worse in the short term. I just hope the people that voted for this jerk really share the pain.
