Back dabbling in the discrete world...

I need a TRIAC:

450Vmin (peak) standoff
3Amp Peak, but non-repetitive
Irms ~ 100mA
Cheap ;-)

Suggestions?

Scores thousands :-(

Not something I do every day.

Figured someone like Joerg would have a part number on the tip of his
tongue.

Your suggestion is as usual... useless.

Do your own parts search scut work. You might even learn something.

Larkin is a heart attack or stroke waiting to happen... good riddance

You have stents? Artificial joints? I spent one night in a hospital in
my life, when I was a teenager, having my wisdom teeth out.

Pitiful.

Ordinarily, I'd have some sympathy for a senile old geezer,
polio-ridden, with stents in his arteries and artificial joints, who
can't remember much physics or electromagnetics, out of ideas, living
in a hideous house in a bleak hell-hole in the middle of nowhere. But
for lots of sensible reasons, I don't.

Hardly senile. I'm still designing custom microchips. Can you do
that?

>polio-ridden, with stents in his arteries and artificial joints,

That's quite crude, but that's what we all have come to expect from
you.

In the early summer of 1947, I had scarlet fever, hard measles and
pneumonia all in one pop.

The doctor's opine that the scarlet fever is what damaged my heart,
nearly closing one vessel with scar tissue. So I have ONE stent
fixing that damage. My heart is otherwise like that of a 40-year-old.
I passed a severe stress test last year and was declared in great
shape... though I'm carrying some excess wine-induced weight :-) My
blood pressure is on the low side of normal, often like 110/66...
what's yours?

In my weakened condition, in the late summer of 1947 I contracted
polio. Since, even at that age, I was a mean little cuss, my
condition was noted immediately, and I was bed-ridden for several
months. I am not "polio-ridden", have no paralysis, but do have
damaged joints, for which I have ONE hip-joint replacement. I am not
physically impaired... ask Martin Riddle, or Spehro Pefhany or
Winfield Hill... they've all met me, shared a drink, or two, or...

>who
>can't remember much physics or electromagnetics,

I can remember which books to look into. For circuit designs I rarely
need such information. At the same time I AM master at circuit
modeling magnetic effects... ask the AIMS Methodology Architects at
Cadence.

>out of ideas,

Hardly. I thrive on new approaches to designing circuit functions.

>living
>in a hideous house in a bleak hell-hole in the middle of nowhere.

Pretty crude to criticize my house which is several multiples of the
size of yours and abuts a mountain preserve occupied by interesting
wildlife. Of course the style is modern... something you don't seem
able to cope with. (Plus I don't like cold weather... that's why I
picked Arizona right out of MIT.)

>But
>for lots of sensible reasons, I don't.

Yes, I know, you like to live close to your queers, and pay
Californica taxes ;-)

The types used in electronic florescent starters came to mind as the derived
gate current imposes limitations - but so far as I can find they only use
SCRs enclosed in a bridge.

If your application can accommodate that; ST is a good place to start.
