GIYF I get about 50,000 hits from "RFID card encryption". That
includes pieces on the cracking of at least one form of Mifare card.

No, this is not the case, there were discussed Crypto-1 encryption
algorithm used in mifare "classic" RFID chips.
This is another thing.
