Now I hear that a microwave oven does not heat up really pure water
well. I was taught that a microwave oven takes advantage of the polar
nature of the water molecule which has a slightly positive region and a
slightly negative region. It seems that the teaching was wrong.
So, my question is does a charged comb placed near a flow of really pure
water bend the water column? I was told that the water column bends
because of the polar nature of the water molecule which has a slightly
positive region and a slightly negative region. If this assumption is
proven false in the explanation of microwave non-heating of really pure
water, the comb may not bend the column of really pure water? I am
confused. I don't have really pure water, so I can't do an experiment.
Can somebody help?
Microwaves heat up water. if it is pure and still then bubbles will not form
and it will not "boil" but it will get to the boiling point.
Touching the container will allow the bubbles to form and the water may boil
so rapidly as to expell a lot on your hand.

Even if true the column would not likely be in a polarized state with all
the molecules lined up nice and neat so the comb would have no effect.

The magnetron in a microwave emits photons at a frequency of 2.45 GHz,
this wavelength is very good for adding kinetic energy to water
molecules. Now water may fail to BOIL in a microwave, but that's due
to the smooth surface of microwave safe containers (compared to steel
and aluminum pots) and the lack of convection currents. The imputies
you want here are dust and air bubbles to act as nucleation sites for
the boil bubbles -- drop a spoon in the hot water from the microwave
-- the steam is there.

Sure, water is still a good dipole. Here's a thought problem for you
-- define to yourself what really pure water is.
The water will boil if you heat it long enough. It may be superheated but you
will eventually get the vapor bubbles. What does not readily come out of the
water is the dissolved air. Try dropping some sugar into the water heated in
the microwave. You will see considerable air bubble formation.
The displacement of a water stream from a faucet by an electric field or a
magnetic field is the result of the water becoming charged by intimate
contact and contact potential differences as it flows past the pipes and
faucet. This is the same phenomenon as the charging of a piece of cloth by
rubbing it against some other fabric. It is commonly mislabeled as charging
by friction.

Gee hanson ol girl, you really do need a date, maybe a fig.
My post above was done in perfect accordance with the
edicts of your green icons and enviro role models who said:

believe is true ... You are what the media define you to be.
Greenpeace became a myth, and a myth-generating machine."

**** These enviro-creationist quotes will not go away. ****
The enviros should revere these quotes for they are their gospel.
Don't deny them. Be proud of them. They are, after all, the
Green equivalent of the Red manifesto or Hitler's "Mein Kampf".
The enviros green ilk's strenuous and pathetic efforts to burry them,
is reminiscent of the Nazis who claimed not to have known how evil
their leaders and their systems were and copping the same plea
of "just following orders".
Environmentalism is the same ideology. Environmentalism is just
the revived green version of social pathologies like BROWN with red
and green or RED with brown and green tints.
Face the facts green turds, nowadays the enviros do have problems,
a) because the people caught onto their game of green turdism, that

== One of the saddest legacy that the green turds produced ==

b) because it was doomed from the outset by top "executive" advice

Environmental turdism runs across and far, far beyond political and
ideological party lines. The right wing, conservatives, have an equal
if not bigger number of green turds amongst them, then the lefties do.
Turdism/Turdry begins when principally noble ideas are exploited for
personal gain. The perversion of the noble goals begins as soon as
the old adage to riches is introduced and applied:
********* "Find a need and fill it" *********
Modern, current turdism is so vile because the bastards, the green
shits expanded it successfully into
********* "Create a fear and feed off it". *********
Remember,
you can strike fear into some people for all the time.
you can even strike fear into all people for some time.
But you cannot strike fear into all people for all the time.

Josh, what do all your personal, unsavory fetishes have
to do with my post which is about unsavory practices in
environmentalism, such as I will repeat here below:

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to
think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone´s fault.
If it was Us, what did that make Me ? After all, I´m one of Us. I must be.
I´ve certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No-one ever thinks
of themselves as one of Them. We´re always one of Us. It´s Them that do
the bad things. <=> Terry Pratchett. Jingo.

One wonders whether the following environmental edicts by
leaders of the green movement have generated the undertones

Josh, the green bible as posted in these two threads is aimed

I hope that with your help and continued response stimulation
this exposé of/about green turdism will continue for years.
From time to time the analysis portion therein may be updated.
Consider this to be a real ENVIRO FAQ, which you have helped to
