Pittcon 2008: Editor's Choice Awards
March 6, 2008
Over the past 10 years, about 200 of the editors in attendance at
Pittcon have selected the best examples of innovative and creative
instruments showcased on the exposition floor. The sole criterion is
that the nominated products appear on the exhibition floor for the
first time. The editors caucus late Wednesday each year and vote for
Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners. 2008 results are listed below, along
with those that are awarded honorable mention - nominated, but not
placed in the top three.
Gold: Bruker AXS Smart X2S
Silver: NLISIS Meltfit One
Bronze: Bruker AXS S2 Picofox
Just like Shimadzu's Koichi Tanaka and Terry L. Adams say: If you buy
SHIT-madzu, then you will own SHIT-madzu!
Where are any Shimadzu scientific publications that mention Shimadzu
equipment in the peer-reviewed scientific literature? And for
Anonymous George (sounds a lot like Curious George) and Sam Adams or
Adamson (sounds a whole lot like "pussy-less" Terry L. Adams, no need
to personalize and drag in the names of people who you like to trash
anonymously.
Is it any wonder you're unemployable, Mark?
Any employer would have to be completely nuts
to hire someone with your record with regard
to how you harass your former employers such
as Shimadzu and Belfort Instruments.
Let's not forget the railing against the City of Baltimore and
Ryland Homes, too. You don't have to be a former employer to enjoy
being a target of Markie's poison keyboard. (Well, actually not -
his- keyboard, more like Baltimore County public library's
keyboard).
Isn't the Internet wonderful? In past times if one behaved as
Markie does, one's former employer might make quiet arrangements
for one to have an unfortunate meeting with an off-duty policeman.
Or one might be shipped off to a public institution where one would
be fed, clothed, and allowed to mutter to the walls in benign
neglect. Nowadays, in the aftermath of Miranda and Reaganomics,
off-duty policemen work as night-club bouncers and those nice
institutions are repurposed to make homes for the likes of
Lucasfilm.
In our new era of political correctness, people like Markie roam
the Internet, pushing their stolen shopping carts piled high with
the debris of their deranged lives. You can't deny them access to
the public libraries, and if they still retain enough coherency to
use a keyboard, access to unmoderated newsgroups as well. (OK, OK,
I'm pushing it a bit to say that Markie's postings are coherent).
On the other hand, the City of Baltimore owns a lot of snowplows.
If I were Markie, I wouldn't venture out on the street during a
blinding snowstorm... Watch your back, Markie!
With love,
Your good buddy George
Mr. Mark Thorson, you're troubled history precedes you! You were sued
for defamation by Cell Tech, forced to issue a public retraction of
your flawed conclusions as well as being a proven cyberstalker and
liar. Did I forget anything? And it's you Mr. Mark Thorson (who is
probably masquerading as Our Buddy George, Sam Adams, Sam Adamson, M.A.
Sonjariv and lord only knows who many aliases) who labels others as
being a lunatic with a vendetta. Look in the mirror buddy!
The mere fact that Shimadzu's rivals (eg. Waters, Agilent, Bruker,
Thermo, Dionex, need I list more?) are garning awards flushes your
feeble agrument down the toilet. Why don't you guys address the message
(like the observation that Shimadzu didn't win any 2008 Pittcon Editors
Award) versus inking your poisonous pen and personalizing your attack
against somebody from the other side of the world? How can Kukucka be
at the local library one day and then on the other side of the world
the next? And what accomplishments can one find listed on your resumes
other than "stalker, loser, vengeful, nasty, coward, bully,
manipulative?"
BTW: I think Shimadzu has been hurt financially. Otherwise, name
another analytical instrumentation company that has grown at the
sluggish annual growth rate of 1.46% for the past 14 years?

You guys are in some serious denial and need lots of professional help!
You're not fooling anybody, Mark. Your smear campaign
against your former employers is so transparently
obvious, no matter how many fake aliases you create.
Is it any wonder that you're completely unemployable?
A company would have to be totally nuts to hire
somebody with your history.
Remember that defamation lawsuit that you were served with from Cell
Tech. More importantly remember that embarassing retraction that
printed and publically acknowledged that you engaged in libel. Consider
also that several have labeled you as a cyberstalker.
Did "I" forget anything Mark Thorsen?

>How about your real name, and what your purpose in posting this
>garbage is.
His real name is Mark Kukucka. His purpose is to cause as much
damage as he can to the city of Baltimore, its Convention Center,
his former employers (who fired him), and anyone who criticizes
him or "crosses him". To get a better picture of his activities,
search www.deja.com for search terms "198.76.204.*", "198.76.205.*"
(the addresses of the libraries he mostly posts from), or
"Mark Kukucka". The Baltimore Sun archives at www.sunspot.net
also show something about his activities; search for "kukucka".
One of the Sun articles shows why he attacks the Conventoin
Center - they fired his brother Douglas while he was still in his
probationary period. Like the obsessive psycho that he is, Markie
has created websites and posted regular messages attacking the
Center, and has kept it up for more than a year. He has done the
same for his former employer, Shimadzu, for something like 2 1/2
years. He sends anonymous threats and E-mail bombs to his
"detractors". He creates many new E-mail identities and claims
that other people were responsible for the kinds of abuse that
he did - psycho projection or blame-shifting, maybe. He recently
claimed (in one of his usual forged "letters of support") to have
torched a Shimadzu sales van. He stalked employees at Ryland, Inc.
Because of his history and behavior, he is essentialy unemployable,
but he is supported by his family and therefore has all of his
time free to do this electronic vandalism stuff from the libraries.
