The Canadians have threatened to take over the United States. They're
hosting secret weapons. You can see them in the future, killing the
President. They have already attacked Berea, Oh. We must flee to
Mexico, before they kill you.

Shut up, idiot. Canadians are quiet, self-effacing, infinitely polite
and we're sticking to that story.

Now just reach over there and get me the cloak of invisibility, would
you? I have something I need to do....

Would that include Maple Leaf fans?

Just make sure you close up the front properly this time,
please. Those cheerleaders are still traumatised from their
last post-practice shower.

Are we eligible for free health coverage if we surrender?

I know you mean well, Father, but it's not free. It's just like
insurance: you pay a premium, deducted from your paycheck, and you're
covered. It's quite simple, really.

Yes, for many really important things, but not everything. That's
still better than what goes on in other countries where they refuse
service if payment can't first be arranged somehow.

If you just give Alaska back, this whole thing can be settled with less
effort than it takes to play a game of chess.

Give Alaska back?
What would the Russians want with Alaska?
Anyway, if they don't take Palin the deal is off.

We're doing it by setting up a Tim Horton's on every street corner in
the USA. We call it "donut diplomacy". As Canadians we simply believe
that most of life's problems can be resolved with a nice cup of coffee
and an apple fritter. Meanwhile, agent Bieber is converting millions of
American girls to our cause.

Alaska was part of Canada before the Russians took it. (Perhaps the
early powers-to-be in Canada and Russia both forsaw Palin.)

Sure, we'll take Palin. That's totally tolerable considering the oil.

How would giving back to the Russians something we paid for help?

That's impossible. Under the U.S. system, you get

It would solve your Sarah Palin problems while also helping Canada
become a larger oil supplier to the world (people can feel better about
buying oil from Canada because we're constitutionally secular).

The lumber industry benefits from the use of paper. There's also the
milk cartel who fit into healthcare somehow, but it's not exactly clear
how (any ideas?).

Indeed.

I do have very bad memories from ordering Canadian Bacon in the USA.
It proved to be some sort of round slices of ham without any fat or
smoke flavour.

Fun fact: In Canada, there's no such as Canadian Bacon. There's only
bacon, a marvelous strip of meat & fat that's best served cooked on a
pan on every occasion. Enjoy!

Where would Canada get the extra oil if the USA gave Alaska to the
Russians?
