Does that mean I could be <i>closely</i> related, to Gans? Yes! It
means, that the further apart, you are, the more "closely related" you
are.

As to my relatedness with Gans, the paper doesn't seem to describe the
subpopulation that I believe we both might share. If he is a
Galitzianer, a real mensch, then I proudly welcome my cousin. On the
other hand, he might be a Litvak in which case ...
