means, that the further apart, you are, the more "closely related" you
are.

As to my relatedness with Gans, the paper doesn't seem to describe the
subpopulation that I believe we both might share. If he is a
Galitzianer, a real mensch, then I proudly welcome my cousin. On the
other hand, he might be a Litvak in which case ...

Comparisons on a gene by gene additive basis is primitive. In the future epistatic gene groups will have to be compared since individual genes do NOT present a fitness independent level of selection. The persistence of gene centricity within evolutionary theory as perpetrated by Dawkins et al misrepresents evolutionary theory.
