I used to post here quite regularly years ago on the selfish helper idea and a few other bits and pieces. I have been a way for a few years working on other things.
One of the things I have want to do for a long time was build a model evolutionary system based on flowers. I have finally got round to doing this and you can down load from the Apple App store. You can investigate the effect of mutation, recombination and selection on the improvement of flower appearance or any other characteristic you choose. You can save your best flowers to the server. The most recent ten flowers save can be uploaded to the app.
The app is subtle and takes a bit of playing around to get good at.
One of the problems of teaching evolution is to demonstrate the action of selection in the class room. This is fairly simple with this app.
