Heysan,

Some of you probably know BOINC ...

<http://boinc.berkeley.edu/>

... a software-program, where you can make the unused computer-power
available for scientific research.

There is a wealth of projects, see ...

<http://boinc.netsoft-online.com/e107_plugins/boinc/get_user.php?cpid=2ce86db80ec7919b0d76a942f6b947a5&html=1>

... including the famous Seti@home

--

But when I have multiple projects running at-the-same-time on my computer,
so allocated to each project an equal share of the "cake".

Fx. if I have 3 projects running, then get assigned to each project ...

33% SETI@home
33% Milkyway@home
33% Einstein@Home

But I would like fx. ALWAYS (whatever) to assign
Seti@home project across 90% of resources.

But * how * do I do that?

(Have searched in vain in many places.)

Can it be done (this my wish) in the current relationship?

Yes, go to the web page for your account in each project and change the
resource share. They will be set at 100% for each project initially and
then split three ways. Setting Seti to 90 and the other two to 5 should
work.

You don't need to set all three: BOINC will always 'normalize' the
percentages -- some of a user's hosts may not be attached to all the
projects he runs, so it can't assume the total 'weight' is 100. Assuming
the resource shares are currently at their default setting of 100, just
changing SETI@home's to 1800 will have the same effect.

Yes, that's the way I'd do it as well. I had a mental block and just
couldn't think of the words to explain it :-)

Thank You all, for Your responce.

But ...

You see:
My problem is, that I can *only* READ the resource (default setting = 100).
I can't change the numbers (on my computers BOINC-program) !!!

Unless ...

Rodney Pont! You were talking about a web page (for my account)

I assume, that ...

Okay ...

*Now* I (maybe) understand, what You mean:

BOINC HQ gives the order (to the program on my computer)

Step 1

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/home.php

(click on the icon-text 'account')

(This should automatic give a jump to a new website, which are ...)

-

Step 2

(something like:)
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/prefs.php?subset=project

And here is as follows (a part of it):

=== quote start ===

Indstillinger
(means: Preferences or settings)

[ ... ]

Resource-fordeling og grafik
(means: Resource allocation and graphics)

=== quote (end) ===

(click on the icon-text 'SETI@home-indstillinger', danish version)
(click on the icon-text 'SETI@home-settings', english version, I guess)

(This should automatic give a jump to a new website, which are ...)

-

Step 3

(something like:)
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/prefs_edit.php?subset=project

And here is as follows (a part of it):

=== quote start ===

Resource share:
Determines the proportion of your computer's resources allocated to this
project. Example: if you participate in two BOINC projects with resource
shares of 100 and 200, the first will get 1/3 of your resources and the
second will get 2/3.

=== quote (end) ===

And next to this text, there is a box, with the value '100'

This number can be changed to a new one ... :-)

1800 ?

Okay. Let's try:

Wow !!!

"Operation" done with succes ... :-)

Merci beaucoup. Thank You all very much and have a nice day ... :-)
