The americans are going to make their base at the south pole of the
Moon, at Schackleton crater.
There is no sunlight at the bottom, so how much of the particles from
a CME would get down there, and would they not be more protected in a
shelter standing behind a suitable rock at the bottom than in the
storm shelter at the base ?
Of course you still need the shelter at the base for the gammarays,
but how much can the slower particles fly around corners ?
