Light pollution, or less than very transparent sky, interferes
considerably with seeing the Pleiades nebulosity. In good conditions,
however, quite a lot of it can be seen in a 7x50 binocular.

I can see the nebula in the Pleiades with my Starfinder 8 with the
Lumicon Deep-Sky Filter without any moon in the heavily light polluted
area in the western part of Houston. I also used averted vision that
time.
