The Stonethrowing theory makes an astounding prediction. In my last
post I remarked that Neanderthal
man, the males, come in at a brachial index of 79 whereas human males
come in on average at 77.
This is what the Stonethrowing theory hypothesizes as
the cause of Neanderthal extinction and all other
hominids that were less able to throw.

But now, considering that men go out and do the hunting and the women
stayed around the campfire
to attend other duties and chores of hominid life, that
the women would have a lagging-evolution towards
the elbow, knee, hip as midpoints and thus less
of a thrower than the men's average. So that all it took
for Neanderthal extinction was a 79 versus a 77 for
human male on average.

So what is today's modern day average brachial index
for the human female? Is it about 80?

It is lovely that a theory of anthropology makes a prediction and a
obvious prediction at that. And this
prediction thus eliminates all other anthropology theories which
cannot explain the obvious fact of the
sexual dimorphism of human females as per throwing.

Predictions like this this, in the real world, are called post hoc
accommodating reasoning (Binford 1983).
