God is a miracle working God so could have created the Noah's Flood water
and after the flood was over--God could have caused the excessive water to
be placed on another planet.

IOW, you are saying God lied to us, when he poofed the water into and
out of existence, and caused a flood that left no evidence of any kind
of its presence. Not only that, but several civilizations lived through
ye Floode without noticing they had all drowned.

Then why spend a year just to flood this one tiny planet? Why not
take a week and rebuild the whole universe?

And what made God think World 2.0 would be an improvement over the first
revision?

Since he would have "poofed" the water into existance, why would he
bother to move it to another planet? Ever hear of "logic"?

So why did he create evidence that there was no floode. Sounds like
the sort of thing Loki is known for.

Obviously, when God poofed the water away, he poofed all the
gruesomely destroyed children and parents and animals and plants
back to life and deleted their memories of Ye Flood.

All of them, both good and evil, otherwise, it would have gone
into the records over in Egypt this year's flood level, Joe-Ra
the Pedophile suddenly disappeared as well a bunch of other
folks we definitely don't miss, this years wheat harvest...

Why, you may ask would God tell us all about this humongous
punishment and neglect to mention that He un-punished everybody
afterward? That's a good question...

It's because...

God works in mysterious ways! Yes. Ha HAH.
See? It's all very simple.

And why not save all the trouble of creating a flood, hiding all the
eveidence there of, then creating evidence proving there was no flood.

Even an incompetent god would have realized it would be far simpler to
just "poof" away the eveil doers and leave the righteous people
alone...even in the totally unlikely case that the entire worlkd
population minus 7 people were "evil".

I did not say that God lied to us. The Bible does not provide details
about that subject.

God could have done it several different ways. One pastor claimed God used
Noah's Flood to do it since it was God way of letting everyone know that
he was cleansing the world of evil people. The next time--God will use
FIRE to destroy the evil people that are in the world at that time. After
that fire is over, God will create a perfect world on this earth--read the
last two chapters of the Bible to find out the details of what that new
world will be like. Also, see John 3:16.

The evidence is on this earth--such as the Grand Canyon and the ocean fish
fossils that I have been found on Mount Everest.

I was guessing--perhaps God did make the water disappear.

G.C. was not formed from a flood and there is tons, literally in the
rocks, to prove it.
The fossils on Everest are too old by millions of years to have had
anything to do with the flood;.

Try again and while you are at it, we are still waiting to find out
where all that water went and how there was no light on earth unntil
after your asinine flood.

OMG! ROFLMAO!!!. So he kills everybody and then explains to them
why? JAAYYYZUSSS!!!

So why didn't he create that perfect world the first time. After all
he is
"all knowing' and therefore knew his first attempt would fail..;and
his second.

What, He is so incompetent he needs practice to get it right?

Since several civilisations continued through this alleged flood
without even getting their toes wet, what does that say to you about
the biblical flood account?

One only has to read genesis and then check the geological record to
know that he lied.
There is zero evidence a flood ever happened and lots of evidence one
didn't, e.g., those civilisations that flourished during that
period,
maintained continuous records, etc. and never mentioned that everybody
drowned.

to those other cultures that were mentioned.

No--it's more complicated. God has given people two chances to get it
right and we failed both times. The third time--God will take over the
earth and will get it right. Read the last two chapters of the Bible for
the details. The third time is the charm.

I didn't ask you to google flood legends of other cultures.

You've been told that several civilisations passed through the time
your alleged flood was supposed to have happened.

Those civilisations make no mention, in what records we have from
them, that there was any such catastrophic global flood.

Yet your bible account says only eight people survived.

Your bible account also says the world was repopulated by just six of
those people.

Now try and think.

Given the actual evidence and what your bible says.

What does that say to you about the biblical account?

It's a simple question, with a simple answer.

It's very simple--God is a miracle working God and could have used
miracles to make it happen.

The fossils that date back to the Mesozoic era, 200 million years ago?
Those fossils?
You "found" no recent fossils on Everest. That is a blatant lie,
unless you can back it up.
Since the top of the GC has a marine layer dating from 250 million
years ago, marine fossils might be expected to be found there. Do you
have a switch in your brain that switches it of when confronted with
contrary facts? Where are these Noahic fossils? To my knowledge you
have NEVER produced them.

A legend is not necessarily an actual event. The FACT that the Old
Kingdom maintained its records through the date you have chosen should
suggest to you that you are wrong. You are trusting in a date given
by a 17th century prelate and a charlatan, neither of whom know
Egyptology better than you, who know nothing.

That doesn't address my question and you know it.

Now don't ask me to repeat the question.

Go back and read it and the points that I raised that lead to the
question.

In your scenario, God left no evidence that a flood occurred, and
copious amounts of evidence that it never did. Therefore, if there was a
flood, God lied about it. That means that the god you worship is a liar.

alleged god? Not to mention there must have been "good people" who
were massacred by this evil yet fictional god's flood. It can't seem
to do anything right.

And I did the same search, and found that all the sites that said Egypt
had legends of a global flood were either Christian or New Age sites,
and that they all cribbed from each other without *ever* giving
references to any work by any historian or anthropologist or ethnologist
who had actually studied ancient Egyptian culture.

IOW, you found bullshit fantasies and outright lies on your side, and
reasonably decent to excellent scholarship on the other, truthful,
non-global-flood side.

But that won't stop you from repeating this lie of yours the next time
this comes up, will it, Jason?

> I did not do any google searches related

I not only did google searches on the other civilizations that were in
existence in the mid-third millennium BC, but I have studied them in
both history courses at the bachelor's level and in archaeology courses
at the graduate level. None of the historical or archaeological facts
support a global flood at that time. Or, really, at any time.

Repeat, there is *no, none, nada, kein, zip, bupkus, zero* historical or
archaeological evidence for a world-engulfing flood in the mid-third
millennium BC.

And you expect us to believe that a global flood that could cut the
Grand Canyon in weeks or months would leave no evidence whatsoever in
the household goods of cultures we know extremely, extremely well?

I guess you do expect us to believe that.

You already know my point of view--Noah's Flood did happen and God made it
happen. We believe the population started with just two people--Adam and
Eve.

There is one belief among some Christians that God tried the creation
thing once before Adam and Eve and that was the reason Cain was able to
find a wife in a nearby town. Those people in that town were "left-overs"
from the first creation. I don't believe it. I believe he married one of
his sisters.

I believe it is possible for 8 people to get it started--esp. if every man
has several wives.

After about two or three more days, I don't plan to respond to very many
more posts in this tread. The reasons are:

1. Albert Einstein once stated: "The definition of insanity is doing the
same thing over and over again and expecting different results." I once
believed that is was possible to convince the advocates of abiogenesis
that life could NOT evolve from non-living matter. In fact, the Law of
Biogenesis clearly states that living things always come from other living
things and that living things only produce more living things like
themselves. However, I now realize that many advocates of abiogenesis will
NEVER be convinced by anyone that the Law of Biogenesis is a valid theory
in much the same way that the law of gravity is a valid theory. It's
insanity to continue to try to convince people that I am correct.

2. I once believed that I could convince people that abortion was equal to
murder. The exceptions were to save the life of the mother or to remove
dead fetuses from a woman's body. I failed to accomplish that goal. Many
people appeared to me to honestly believe that the killing of an unborn
baby was NOT murder. It's insanity to continue to try to convince people
that I am correct. Abortion=Murder

3. We came to an impasse on several different issues such as Noah's Flood.
I ended up having to respond to the same questions dozens of different
times. I believe that Noah's Flood happened but lots of posters believe
that it did not happen.

4. On some days, I responded to over a 100 posts. Mary claims that I am
addicted to the internet. She told me that responding to posts is
preventing me from getting various jobs or chores done. She is correct.
Responding to posts is also limiting the quality time that I am spending
with Mary. The end result will be that I will have more time to spend with
Mary.

5. I hurt my back last year so stopped exercising. I have heart disease.
My cardiologist said that I need to start walking at least a mile per day
since it will help to treat my heart disease problems. I also need to do
back exercises each day--even if it is painful to do back exercises each
day.

6. And the last and final reason--I am developing some minor carpal tunnel
snydrome problems. Responding to over 50 posts per day requires a lot of
typing and cutting back on newsgroup posts will help make that problem go
away--at least I hope so. I feel sorry for a lady that works at the
grocery store--her job requires her to use the register 8 hours a per day.
She has a major case of carpal tunnel syndrome and has to wear a device on
her wrists.

The Bible is not a science book. The story about the flood was passed down
from generation to generation (oral tradition) until Moses wrote down the
story. That is probably the reason lots of details got left out. It's too
bad we don't have a witness to what the world was like prior to the
flood--such as--was there a canopy?

It is even more difficult to convince people when they know far more
about the subject than you do. That you are intentionally ignorant makes
that task even harder.

That is something having to do with personal belief. You have that
belief. Our point is, and always has been that we aren't forcing our
point of view on you, so don't try to force your point of view on us.

Your problem is that you have been presented evidence that the flood
never happened,, and you just go on as if it was never presented. You
are asked questions about the supposed flood and come up with
nonsensical answers.

That is the first good reason you presented. Of course, things would be
far better for you if you actually did some research before responding
to posts. In many cases, your answers are nonsensical, In other cases
they are lies. You are provided with solid evidence about many subjects,
such as the lies of the ICR, Limbaugh, etc., and you go on as if the
evidence was never presented to you. Finally, when you try to respond to
requests for information, all you do is give the first 10 results of a
Google search, without even bothering to look at them. Usually, your own
search results prove you wrong.

Again, answer fewer posts, but try to be more thorough in your answers.

You are changing the subject again, which you always seem to do when
caught in a lie. The fact is there is no evidence for a worldwide flood,
physical or biological. There are a number of civilizations that seemed
not to have noticed that they had all drowned, which is not good
evidence for the flood. Finally, much of the flood is physically
impossible, since you still haven't been able to come up with an
explanation of where the water came from and where it went. Therefore,
if there was a flood, it is clear that God lie, since he seemingly hid
all evidence of its ocurrence.

No it doesn't because it is impossible to have happened. When an
explanation is proved wrong, it stops being an explanation.

You obviously lied about going to college because that is one of the
things they teach. Even in the intro 101 level classes.

If you came up with physically possible answers things might have been
different. Coming up with ad hoc assertions that contradicted what
you wrote before did not help. Having no evidence for you assertions
and refusing to look for it was not clever.

I was referring to future generations. If they all had 20 or more
children--future generations would have lots of people. If each man had
several wives and 20 children per woman--the population would have grown
very quickly in about a dozen generations.

You got that right, especially as all the evidence shows you are

And you've been told while you might find it morally repugnant and
unacceptable, it is not murder. And you've been told why that is the
case.

We know it didn't happen, because there is no observable evidence for
it.

So you go to Mary's house to help her, and you spend most of your time
on the computer while there.

No wonder she's annoyed with you.

The best thing for a bad back, which was demonstrated years ago here
in the UK, is regular, gentle exercise. Why? Because sitting, or
laying down for too long each day makes the back muscles weaker.

How would great Canyon be cut by flooding in one year to such a depth?
It would take a million years for that kind of canyon to be formed.

The YECs seem to think that the layers of sediment were laid down by
Ye Floode and therefore were stil soft when the waters sluiced off the
land. Unfortunately, they neglect to explain how mile high cliffs of
mud stay up!

For that explanation to work you also have to explain why he would:
1. Hide all the evidence there was a flood.
2. Trick you by manufacturing evidence showing no such flood occured.
3. Somehow forget to send the flood over Egypt, China and several
other civilisations tht lived right through it.

The children and grandchildren and great grandchildren--Let's say there
were 20 to 30 men and 30 to 50 women. In those cases--some of the men
could have more than one wife and each of the wives would have about 15 to
20 children. The people lived longer in those days according to the
information in the book of Genesis.

Yes, that is what lots of people believe. Back in the 1970's--the staff
members of Planned Parenthood would tell people that a fetus was nothing
but a glob of tissue. They can't get away with that lie anymore. Due to
the new types of color ultrasound machines--it's easy to determine that a
third term fetus is an unborn baby and looks just like a baby. It is even
possible to determine the sex of the unborn baby. It's not a glob of
tissue--it's an unborn baby. The advocates of abortion in some states go
to court to put an end to any state laws that require pregnant women to
see ultrasounds of their babies before they can get an abortion. Think
about--why do you believe that is true? Hint--they don't want pregnant
women to realize that there is an unborn baby (not a glob of tissue) that
is inside of them.

Actually, I go to my neighbor's (named Sarah) house to help her take care
of her 81 year old disabled father. Mary lives with me in my home.

You are correct--that is why my last post in this thread will be Sunday.

That is why Mary is very upset with me.

No--she does not read my posts.

She is mainly upset because I spend more time on the computer instead of
getting the various chores done. Responding to posts is more fun than
boring chores and back exercises that are painful to do. However, those
exercises need to be done to get rid of the back problems. I also need to
start walking a mile a day instead of spending hours a day responding to
posts. My last post in this thread will be Sunday.

According to Genesis chapter 7:6--Noah was 600 years old when Noah's Flood
began. The ages of various offspring of Moses are listed in chaper 11.
Many of the children and grandchildren of Noah lived to be over 100
hundred years old.
Shem (vs 10) was 100 years old when he begat a son named Arphax.

Some websites did mention a global flood in Egypt--they were all Christian
sites according to one poster. My last post in this thread will be on
Sunday.

So, you not only broadcast your selfish nature online, but you exhibit
it in your real life too.

You take pride to announce that your vile nature is consistent.

And if you go to the 7 and a half floor of a certain Manhattan office
building, you'll enter John Malkovich's mind.

It's all fiction Jason. Else you could provide even a smidgen of
evidence to support these preposterous stories.

No it wasn't. It wasn't necessary once. You are announcing that you are
running away like a coward. It was expected.

Since it is a physical impossibility, it does no such thing.

Umm... no. There is no need for you to announce the reason or the date
for your departure. You're not that important. No one is.

I don't even know why you're waiting for Sunday. If there are problems
that you need to deal with, deal with them. Planned procrastination is
nothing more than hoping that the problems go away on their own.

How many times are you going to tell us that.

BTW, you did nothing to support your idea of when the flood occurred,
since the Egyptians, and several other civilizations never noticed their
drowning and just kept merrily living along. I wonder how that happened.

The evidence is present such as the Grand Canyon. Ocean Fish Fossils have
been found at the top of the Grand Canyon.

I googled "Global Flood legends Egypt" and got some hits about a global
flood that happened in Egypt. Yes, they were Christian sites.

As for the other, perhaps hurrah, though I may have to find more
productive ways to spend my time.

Since a flud does not produce meanders even you have to admit that.
However, you never did explain how mile high mud cliffs did not slump.

This is your problem. If you had a reasonable answer, my post would
not be necessary. Multiply that by all the other times you give a
"unhelpful" answer and the reason for your carpal tunnel syndrome is
obvious, as well as your record breaking post numbers.

ENOUGH. Before you bugger off, at least have the honesty to supply
details of these fish that you keep asserting, but never produce.

When was this "Global" flud?

I don't know if that is true or false. I have already mentioned that I
googled something like "Global flood legends Egypt".

Some sites said there are not global flood legends in Egypt but some
Christian sites claimed there are global flood legends in relation to
Egypt.

What would happen with the maybe 75% of men who wouldn't have wives? I
assume you know that, on average, there are just about the same number
of women as there are of men.

Why would multiple wives solve anything? The same effect could be
achieved with monogamy, and having many children that survived to reproduce.

Because in those days--it was common for everyone to be married--and that
is the reason men married more than one wife. It was considered to be
"dishonor" if a woman was unmarried and did not have children.

You don't know if it is true? Surely you jest. We have records from just
before the supposed time of the supposed flood, and we have records just
after that time. None said anything about everyone drowning. How could
they have missed it?

Which is pretty stupid, when you think about it, since their written
history runs right through the supposed time of the supposed flood,

You posted "I believe it is possible for 8 people to get it started --
esp. if every man has several wives".

Ergo, you were referring to the eight on the ark, not those that were
born from them.

People's lives were actually shorter then.

Why do you think that young girls were betrothed to men old enough to
be their fathers?

This is an embryo at about 41 days after fertilization:

If I didn't tell you that this was a human embryo and you just saw it

You have no evidence this alleged canopy existed.

You have no evidence the alleged flood happened.

So you are propping up one lie with another.

Your house of cards is under threat from the facts.

There was no canopy.

There was no flood.

c. 2345 BC: Sixth dynasty of Egypt starts

c. 2340 BC – 2180 BC: Akkadian Empire.

c. 2334 BC – 2279 BC: Semitic chieftain Sargon of
Akkad's conquest of Sumer and Mesopotamia.
City of Lothal founded under the Indus valley civilization.

c. 2332 BC—Sargon of Akkad starts to rule

c. 2334 BC – 2279 BC: (short chronology) Sargon of Akkad's
conquest of Mesopotamia.

c. 2333 BC: Beginning of the Gojoseon, the first dynasty
and government system in Korea.

c. 2300 BC: Canal Bahr Yusuf (current name) is created
when the waterway from the Nile to the natural lake
(now Lake Moeris) is widened and deepened to create a canal.

Seems your flood wasn't so "global".

Heck, it doesn't seem to been even local......

How is that any better than 30 to 50 men and 30 to 50 women? one man
with multiple wives *WON'T* reproduce faster than each woman having
her own individual husband. In fact, polygamy might even be worse.
What if *one* of those 20 to 30 men were infertile?
And with fewer men in the gene pool, genetic diversity would be
reduced which could have drastic long-term consequences.
