Why would members of a political party start such a rumour about their
own presidential candidate?

Hillary Clinton ran against Obama in the primary elections. Obama won that
election and Obama hired her to be on his staff.

It's a known fact that a staff member of Hillary Clinton during the
primary elections spread the rumor that Obama was born in Kenya.
Conservative republicans made the mistake of believing the rumor.

Where is your evidence for this so-called known fact Jason?

Which if your previous statement is true, shows how dumb they are.

Yes, we were dumb for believing a rumor started by a staff member of
Hillary Clinton. We should have guessed that the rumor was not true. I
tried hard to find evidence that Hillary Clinton ordered the staff member
to spread the rumor but was NOT able to find that information on any
website. The staff member was very loyal to Mrs. Clinton and took the
heat.

If it is a "known fact", then you shouldn't have any trouble finding a
cite for it. Not from a birther site, please.

He won't be able to find any evidence for this rumour starting with
Hilary Clinton's staff.

All he will find is rumours that it did start with them.

That's probably correct. As far as I know, no person was charged with a
crime for starting those false rumors. I doubt that it is against the law
to start false rumors. Google: "Lies told by Keith Olbermann". He is a
host of a program on MSNBC. I will not repeat the rumor he started about
Hillary Clinton.

So which one of those hits gives the facts. Remember Noah and the
Black Sea debacle?

It turned out that I was wrong about that person being a staff member of
Hillary Clinton. Several websites indicated it was a male supporter of
Hillary Clinton that started the rumor. I found out his name from one of
the websites but will not repeat it since I don't know if the information
at that website is or is not correct.

Google puts in the ellipses so the url will fit on one line. They do not
work in any browser I am aware of. If you want an accurate url, you have
to actually go to the page. What's the matter? Is that too much work for
you?

Provide some of those hits. Go and read them first, however, to see if
they are something more than rumors. Remember, the number of hits has
nothing to do with how truthful a statement is.

staff without knowing if what you were posting was true or not.

It takes lots of time to do it that way with a dial-up connection.

I have already done that. I found out that I was wrong. The person that
started the rumor was a supporter of Hillary Clinton. I found his name at
one website but will not repeat that name since I am not certain the
information I found at that website was correct. His goal was to help
Hillary Clinton win the primaries. His plan did not work. Yes, it was a
rumor. The conservative republicans believed the rumor was a FACT.

Did you ever wonder how a poor teenaged mother got a newborn baby
3/4ths the way around the world to Hawaii without encountering any
immigration or customs agents? How long did it take? How did she get
a doctor to certify his birth? If he was a week old, they could tell.

Did you ever wonder why a US citizen would have to risk going to
federal prison for the rest of her life to fake a birth that was
already legally eligible for naturalized citizenship?

There is no way you could have believed the birther lies. You went
along out of racism and bigotry.

You are a liar, a bigot, a racist and an idiot.

Do you know the reason why the birthers, such as yourself, believed
that. They *wanted* to believe it, because they were racists, who
couldn't stand the fact that a black man was president.

If you are going to post web sites, you have to post them so that the
reader can follow the link. The ellipses do not allow that. The point
is, I don't really care if it takes a lot of time. You are making the
claims, so it is up to you to support it. A broken link doesn't do that.

Tough. Giving incorrect URLs is worse. Stop being such a lazy idiot,
hiding behind the inadequacies of your "computer".
BTW, If you didn't want to crash your wife's computer, why are you
using your friend's? Shouldn't you be afraid you will crash that?

You didn't oppose Clinton or Kerry for the same reasons. You did not
question whether they could legally be president, and you didn't always
paint them to be "the other", someone who is somehow unAmerican, and
"not like the rest of us". The Republican candidates do the same thing,
only using code words (Food stamp president, anti-colonial Kenyan
mentality). That is racism, even though you deny it.

Because they want to keep the url on one line, and the only way they can

You started from a position that the wasn't natural born without a
shred of evidence to that point. How did you ignore all the valid
proofs that refuted this lie? The answer is bigotry and racism.

BTW, McCain wasn't born on a military base. The hospital that he
supposedly was born in wasn't built until he was 2 years old. In 2008
the Senate secretly passed a resolution to never challenge his
citizenship.

What a terrible person you are.

That definition leaves John McCain out, he was born in Panama, not on a

Her, Jason, her! Her name is Linda LIngle. How many times do I have to

It is racism. THat is why you claimed Obama wasn't American, and why you
still lie and claim he is a socialist and a secret Muslim. That way you
justify your hate of a successful black man by saying he is the "other",
and he is not a "real" (meaning white) American.

BTW, your paragraph above shows you think it is OK to tell any lie as
long as it gets the result you want. That shows you do not follow Jesus.

It isn't that they will use his wealth against Romney. It is how he
obtained his wealth, getting rich while firing people. Of course, it
doesn't help Romney that he is so ham handed about explaining his
wealth, making such idiotic statements as he doesn't care about the
poor. He also lies like a rug, as I have demonstrated in the past.

Why would she lie? She campaigned for McCain, a lot. Indeed, so much so
that she was accused of abandoning the state when it was going through
very hard times. Don't give me the garbage that she was afraid she would
lose federal funding. As I told you before (and you ignored), 1) a great
deal of the federal funding for Hawaii is for military bases in Hawaii,
which is not going to be cut off. 2) If Obama were as vindictive as you
make him out to be, he could have used the excuse that LIngle campaigned
for McCain. 3) One of the most powerful members of the senate, Daniel
Inouye, is from Hawaii and he always makes sure that Hawaii gets its
share of pork. So your argument that she was a liar goes where all your
arguments go-into the trash bin.

Which is an outright lie. Bush is to blame for our economic

Meaning he will lie about the economic issues, as he has done already.

out statistics that proved that America's best days are behind us. It
shows an American flag that has been torn into a hundred pieces of cloth.
The point was that we have a broken nation--in much the same way that the
flag was a broken flag. Romney could use the statistics in that article
and similar articles to blame Obama for our economic problems.

So you are using a year-old article to support the idea that today's
economy is in the toilet.

But what about nearly a quarter-million new *private sector* jobs last
month alone?

What about 23 straight months of *private sector* job growth?

What about a steadily declining unemployment rate?

What about record levels on the stock exchanges?

What about that suggests Obama, in Romney's words, 'made the economy worse'?

If that's the best Romney has got, then he should concede the election
right now.

Watch and see--there are other statistics that indicate that we have a
weak economy. The debates between Romney and Obama should be very
interesting.

Romney already (dishonestly) tries to blame Obama. And it is a lie. Not
only is he trying to blame Obama for the job losses that occurred right
after he became president, which were clearly the result of policies of
Bush administration, his campaign is now trying to claim that Obama
shouldn't get the credit for the improvements that have occurred over
the last 2 years (29 months of hiring by private industry).

For a look at the lies of Mitt Romney, see:
http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2012/01/why-yes-mitt-romney-does-lie-a-great
-deal.html
"Really? It seems to me that Romney makes factual, specific claims that
are false all the time. Some of them are minor, daily stories, such as
his denials, when convenient, that he knows anything about the ads he is
running against Newt Gingrich. Others are obvious attempts to mislead
the public about his own history:
When first asked as a 1994 US Senate candidate about records showing him
voting in the 1992 Democratic primary, Romney said he couldnąt recall
for whom he voted.
Then Romney told the Globe he voted for Tsongas because he preferred his
ideas to his then-opponent for the nomination, Bill Clinton. Later, he
added that it was proof he was not a partisan politician.
Yet in 2007, while making his first run for president, Romney offered a
new explanation: He said he voted for Tsongas as a tactical maneuver,
aiming to present the łweakest opponent˛ possible for Bush.
Or important components of the claims that undergird his policy
arguments:
At last nightąs debate, for instance, Romney claimed that Obama łwent
before the United Nations˛ and łsaid nothing about thousands of rockets
being rained in on Israel from the Gaza Strip.˛
This is flat out false. Obama talked about the rockets hitting Israel in
two speeches before the U.N.: One in 2009, and the other in 2011."

There are many more examples of Romney's lies.

I understand how politics work, Jason. I also understand flat-out lies
when I see them. What Romney is saying are flat-out lies. And the
pitiful thing is that you, an avowed Christian, seem to think this is
OK. That it is OK to lie to get your guy elected. You really are a
pitiful person, Jason, and show no Christian values whatsoever.

If it is the truth, it is OK to say it. And the facts say that the Great
Recession of 2008 belonged to Bush and the Republicans. It is not a fact
that Obama is to blame for either the slow job growth (that seems to be
speeding up) or the deficit that occurred since he became president,
since >80% of the debt is a result of Bush policies (tax cuts, wars,
etc). Now that the job market appears to be starting to improve, Romney
will have to lie even more to try to blame Obama for the problems.

Yes, the recovery is fragile. As Obama has said from the beginning.

It would be far more robust if the Republicans would actually work with
the Democrats to create jobs. But they don't; and they won't, as helping
Americans get more jobs for more money would ensure Obama's re-election.
And the Republicans care a whole lot more about beating Obama than
strengthening our nation.

I agree with that last point. For example, lots of Jews voted for Obama

He probably has a dozen staff members finding economic statistics that he
can use against Obama. All they need to do is read the last 20 editions of
the Wall Street Journal and photocopy any stories about how weak the

I don't care and my neighbor does not care. My neighbor has her own new

was able to hook it up to her cable modem. It works great but needs more
RAM.
