SCDC Program Updates

Our fall session of enrichment programs is under way. We have two
Sing & Swing classes and one Baby & Toddler Time class for this
session. Thank you to our volunteers for these classes and also to
everyone who is taking part each week!

A big thank you goes out to our craft classes volunteers. The
Halloween-themed October class was very well-attended and everyone had
a frighteningly good time! This month’s Thanksgiving-themed class
will be on Thursday, November 12th. Registration is required – please
email scdc...@scdc.org if you’re interested.

Be on the lookout for neighborhood tours to get started soon – plans
are in the works for visits to the fire station and Wicked Good
Cookies.

Also coming soon is a new program – Monthly Morning Get-Together.
This monthly event will provide an opportunity for parents and their
little ones to get together for some casual socializing. You’ll be
able to get out of the house and meet other families while enjoying
some light refreshments.


SCDC Volunteer Update

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED for the TOY & BABY GEAR SALE, which will be held
on November 14th. Volunteers for the event help with setting up the
night before by moving tables, greeting sellers and showing them where
their tables are. On the day of the sale, volunteers greet sellers
who are setting up that morning, welcome shoppers to the event, and
help with clean-up after the sale. The volunteer shifts are:

Friday, November 13th
6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Saturday, November 14th
8:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.
10:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

We need 3-5 volunteers per shift. Please consider helping out with
this event. The Toy & Baby Gear Sale provides a valuable service to
local families, particularly in the current economy where every dollar
counts. Without volunteers for this year’s sale, FUTURE SALES MAY BE
CANCELLED –we really need your help!

Floral Street School Fair
Saturday, November 15th
10am - 3pm

Come to our fun-filled family event! Games & Prizes, Red Sox mascot
Wally the Green Monster from 12-2pm ,
over 40 vendors (great time to start shopping for the holidays), a
silent auction/brown bag raffle with over 100 items, food and the
Scholastic Book Fair.
