Hi All

OK, the big one for this month/year is ScalaDays, this is by far the largest scala conference so far. Should be a long, but fun, couple of days. If you don't have a ticket, sorry, it's all sold out.

Martin has also agreed to do an 'intro to scala' talk on the 19th however this is now fully booked. Next time Martin is in town then I'll try to arrange something more advanced.

With Martins talk now fully booked, if you still want an 'intro to scala' then you could do no better than go to Jan's 'Spring in Scala' talk, assuming this is simular to last months lsug talk then its worth attending.

Books - Two new books have appeared last month, "Scala for the Impatient" and "Actors in Scala" (written by Philipp Haller who is also teaching the Akka course below) have arrived from Amazon.

Finally, if you a student and looking for something over the summer then it's Google Summer of Code time. A list of some of the Scala suggestions can be found at http://www.scala-lang.org/gsoc2012

ScalaDays 2012

(17/18th April)

With 56 speakers and 400 scala enthusiasts attending, the good news for everybody with a scaladays ticket is that its only 2 weeks away. This is an extra track for the two days and the evening dinner is now also in the Old Hall at Lincoln's Inn

(useless fact of the day, the first computer program was written 2 years before the Great Hall was opened in 1845)
