At Skills Matter we've recently had a series of free evening Scala talks by
our leading course experts.

Trond Bjerkstrand gave a talk on SLICK and provided extensive examples on
how you can use it to create and query rational databases. You can catch
the full video on our Skills Matter website here - http://bit.ly/SqOFBD

Philipp Haller, our Akka expert, delivered a talk exploring how a common
pattern, composable pipelines, can express asynchronicity and
exception-handling in a clear, concise, and type-safe way. Check it out on
the SM website here - http://bit.ly/SqPzxY

Fredrik Ekholdt, a renowned Play expert, gave an introductory talk for
people interested in Play 2.0. Not only outlining the basics of using Play
2.0 but also describing non-blocking behaviour in Play applications.
