... If we suggest to Skillsmatter that their website be redone in Scala, give it some accounts functionality and a decent API

Anyone up for this? It would be a nice public opportunity to show off the language :)

Or either we can start with prototype and then propose it to them.
The only problem i see is who will be doing a web-design(css,
javascript)

Hi Kevin

I was thinking the exact same thing. I've already talked to Paul @ SkillsMatter about using the community to help with creating a more dynamic, community orientated site. It could be a really neat problem domain to work with and a great opportunity to showcase Scala (Lift, Akka) and maybe NoSql (MongoDB, Redis, Neo4j).

Lets talk more at next meetup.

Plus we have the dojo coming up.  At skillsmatter in fact!
and they have a load of artwork, stylesheets, etc. ready-made.

Seems too much like coincidence?
