Subject: London Scala UG - March Update

Hi All
*
*
Thanks to Jan for the 'Spring and Scala' session and sorry I didn't manage
to talk to you in the pub afterwards. Anyone who can do a talk from 'scala
intro' to 'cake pattern' in less than 90 mins deserves much credit.

Must also give a plug for the weekly scala update blog 'This Week in Scala'
from Cake Solutions, a list of updated apps and interesting blogs and
articles. This weeks can be found
here<http://www.cakesolutions.net/teamblogs/2012/03/02/this-week-in-scala-...>

This month (14th March) we see Ban with how he got on using anti-xml and
Specs2 as part of a project for a client.
The following evening (15th March) is then the monthly Scala Dojo.

*ScalaDays <goog_1922909515>** 2012 <http://days2012.scala-lang.org/>*
(17/18th April)

ScalaDays is coming along nicely, expect to see around 400 other Scala
enthusiasts (almost double the 250 that went last year)

The "Early bird" registrations will be available until 5 March 2012 (ie
this Monday) so if you are still thinking of going and still don't have a
ticket then better act soon, Registration is at
http://days2012.scala-lang.org/registration

The list of 39 speakers for the two-day event are now online at
http://days2012.scala-lang.org/node/92.

Not forgetting keynotes from - Simon-Peyton Jones (Haskell), Guy
Steele(Emacs/Fortress), Anthony Rose (Zeebox) and Martin Odersky
(GJ/Pizza).
