Hi all. Please be thinking about a five-minute presentation you’d like
to make. Show some Scala code you’re working on, provide a quick
lesson on something, present some questions to the group, that sort of
thing. It can be great fun. You don’t have to be a polished presenter;
the audience is friendly.

We will normally have up to three talks, at the beginning of each
meeting.

Please send your ideas and proposals for talks you want to give, or
see, to me by email, da...@davebsoft.com, and I will schedule them.

We can discuss ideas here, if you like.

Dave, I wonder if we could discuss, or somebody could present, the content of Luc Duponchel's latest blog, regarding monad transformers: http://lucdup.blogspot.com/2009/11/monad-transformers-part-1.html

Looks a little bit obscure, but very interesting.

Looks like pretty challenging stuff. But if someone could present it,
or lead a discussion, keeping it interesting and relevant to most of
the audience, then I think it’s appropriate.

I’ll just tell everybody here that Vlad is scheduled into one of the
lightning talk slots with “Implementing small categories in Scala.”
I’ll take another slot showing a very simple Lift application that
shows photos from Flickr, and/or something from TalkingPuffin.

One slot remains. Maybe someone from Twitter, to talk about recent
Scala work? Do the new Twitter features lists, retweets, and
geotagging have anything to do with Scala?
