Subject: Next BASE meeting - Monday July 11th, 7pm at the LinkedIn offices in Mountain View

Hi Scala BASErs

I had a vague recollection of someone volunteering a talk for this meeting,
but then couldn't remember who or what, no one responded to my question on
the group here, so I am going to go with one of the back up topics.

This month, along with the usual lightning talks (I think Vlad has a good
one planned, there are spots for three if anyone wants to join in), we will
have a session devoted to idiomatic Scala and patterns in Scala. This is
intended to be two way conversation. We will kick off with some common
coding practices that Bill and I have thrown together but that is not
intended to be the end of the story. I hope that we can get a good
discussion going about the pros and cons of various approaches to writing
Scala code. Best practices in Scala is a topic that comes up a lot, so this
will hopefully be an energetic and informative evening.

Dhananjay has put together an excellent page of details at

http://engineering.linkedin.com/35/scala-base-meetup-linkedin-july-11

Please try and arrive a bit early to get in to the meeting, and pizza will
be available.

Thanks, and see you there.

Dick
