Hi,
I don't have any pictures of the installation but I can describe things and maybe get a picture or two in the near future.
First, would I but it again? Yes, I think I would. It's far from inexpensive and I think the ram is too fragile (you really have to keep water away from it) but it's much cheaper than the alternatives (the ones that actually work well) and I have found that it works well enough. I had (actually still have, it's a backup) an older ST 1000+ that I picked up used years ago and it struggles greatly in any kind of breeze or waves. The X-5 was a big improvement.
So, the installation. I placed the course computer on the forward part of the starboard main bulkhead where it stands a fair chance of remaining dry, the compass unit under the v-berth in the middle of the boat (again, attached to the forward part of the main bulkhead) and the ram is attached on the starboard cockpit backrest about an inch or so up from seat height. I used the cantilever mounting socket (an egregiously over priced bit of aluminum) to mount the drive ram in the cockpit and a tiller arm bracket mounted to the bottom of the tiller.Installation was not difficult and could be done in a day.
