The SAMD20 is supposed to be as easy to use as the AVR. I am not exactly sure what they mean by this, but it can only be an improvement on the ARM. I like ARM processors, but when it comes to ease of use, you can't beat an AVR. I am sure, though, that ATMEL is going to take their time for getting these to market. They are sort of known for dragging their feet.
