[Sbcl-help] compile problem on amd64

Hi I am having problems installing sbcl on a virtual server running at slicehost.com
they are using xen on amd64 and i have tried ubuntu and debian without success installing sbcl.
apt-get install sbcl hangs when it tries to rebuild common-lisp-controller from sbcl
i tried installing the binaries from sourceforge, the x64 binary installs but when i start up sbcl, it hangs without error message.

Sorry, no fix from me. I just wanted to report that I never could get SBCL
running on Xenish 64Bit boxes. I was actually able to _freeze_ the boxes
by trying to compile sbcl ... (which I consider a major bug in Xen since
no userspace app. should be able to bring the box to a halt).
Sorry, I can't provide too much debugging info for this since a) the box
just freezes and b) those are production machines ....

I can report the same problem that Ralf did; I also crashed Xen
trying to compile SBCL.
