Hi,

The student application period for Google Summer of Code will open
shortly (in about 9 hours or so). I've put a template application form
up on our "organization" page at
<http://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/org/google/gsoc2013/sbcl>, with all
the information that I could think from the top of my head that I would
like to read in an application from a student. What have I forgotten?

Thanks,

Christophe

If it's any help, here's the template we used last year. It's quite a
bit more detailed.

I don't know to what extent this should play a role in the selection
process, but timezone and a description of the ideal mentoring style
would definitely help match mentors to students.

In the proposal section, I would add that (especially if they've taken
inspiration from our list) the proposal should demonstrate how well they
understand the task, e.g. with well a articulated final goal or with
detailed descriptions of intermediate deliverables. Hopefully, we can
ask for that without writing "in your own words." ;)
