Take Payment Without Payment Gateway

Strange request, but my client wants to use Satchmo for the shopping
cart, but wants to process all payments by hand. This means using no
payment gateway, but rather storing the credit card numbers in the
database (yes, I advised against this) and processing the orders by
hand. 1) Is this even possible? and 2) Is there a payment module that
already exists to make this work?

So what happens if its not a valid credit card or its denied?

Anywho, I suppose you could just copy one of the existing payment methods and rip out all the processing stuff and just save the credit card to the order.

It's pretty ridiculous all the way around, but I'm guessing they would have to call the customer to get the valid credit card info. Nuts.

I wonder if the easiest solution would be to skip any payment stuff at all and just allow the user to build their cart, but then have a "call 1-800-blah-blah-blah to complete your order".

I don't see anyone going for this, but what's a boy to do?

Back away...slowly as not to startle them.  Then run like hell.  Or let them know of the actual costs associated with becoming PCI compliant...then run away!
