Hello,

I wonder if anyone can advise me whether Satchmo is the right
application to develop the following. I have a client who needs a
fully integrated e-commerce application with a social network.

The critical issues are that it needs to be multi-store. Each seller
has the ability to create a store. Each store is created under a sub
domain and has shopping cart and social networking functionality.

The products that are being sold are T-Shirts - created using a flash
design module - similar to uberprints.com (this would need to be
integrated into the e-commerce app) and music which the seller will
upload. No other types of products can be sold through the site.

The music products are download able after payment.

The seller also has the ability to promote these products by adding
other types of content such as video, pictures, blogs and events.
Buyers will be able to add this type of content to favourites.

I would love to have this developed in a python framework but I need
to know if Satchmo is the right way to go or do I need a full custom
solution.

I am quite happy to enter into discussions with any devs who would be
willing to undertake such a project. There is a decent budget.

I am about 90% of the way to creating a working prototype with
specifications and screenshots and would be delighted to share this if
anyone is interested.

Right now Satchmo does not support multi-store. However, Bruce recently created a branch to work on this very feature.  I don't know the exact time frame it will take but I'm sure Bruce would welcome any help folks could provide.

Both of these types of items could be sold with Satchmo.

Buyers will be able to add this type of content to favourites.

We don't natively have this sort of social networking capability however pinax ( http://pinax.hotcluboffrance.com/ )is another django app that tries to provide a framework for this type of work. Satchmo and pinax should be able to coexist quite nicely together.

I would love to have this developed in a python framework but I need

I'd recommend touching base with Bruce or one of the other developers listed here-

Good luck,
Chris
