to Saratoga Women's Rugby
Ladies:
As you may or may not know, a member of the the the U-19 Mustangs team, Sean Dickie, passed away this past week. Below are Chuck's words on Sean and information on the services:
Members of the Saratoga Rugby Community,
As several of you may already know, our community has lost one of its own members over this past week. A graduated member of the U19 Mustangs, Sean Dickie (Galway, Class of 2009), was driving early on Sunday morning when his car suffered mechanical failures and was rendered uncontrollable. Sean remained hospitalized throughout the week, but passed away early Friday morning. He continues among us as his organs have been donated to others in need.
Although Sean (aka Sandlot) was only a member of the Mustangs since May of this year, his impact as a Mustang was immediately recognized and welcomed. Having obtained one of the first nicknames in the boy Mustang group, Sean stood out as a true athlete who picked up the game of rugby and the game of life in superb fashion. Even though we only got to know Sean on a limited basis, his loss will burn in our hearts from here on out as we have lost our brother.
Sean's wake is open to all who knew him and will be on Monday, November 16th from 4pm to 8pm at Ryan's Funeral Home in Galway (2034 West St, Galway, NY 12074). Sean's funeral is also open to all that knew him; the only details I have at this point is that it will take place on Tuesday the 17th. Sean's family is handling this as well as anyone could imagine; however, I ask that everyone reading this put them and Sean in your prayers. Thank you.
Regards, Chuck Tempest Saratoga Mustangs U19 Boys RFC Head Coach 2008-2009
I know that Pete Mody is planning on heading up to show his support and pay his respects along with any other team members who care to join at 7pm on Tuesday. Just as the men did, we will be passing around the hat so to speak for contributions to donate to the charity of the family's choice. You may also contribute funds to purchase flowers if you so wish. Please bring any contributions you'd like to give on Thursday.
