Santa Fe JIN News for October 2009:

Konnichiwa Members!

We had many sales of T-shirts, posters and cell phone straps at the
Aki Matsuri in Albuquerque September 27. Thank you to everyone who
helped out!

Thank you to Casey Lenacher who is starting to upgrade our website. In
a few weeks we will have a new and improved web presence with all the
JIN information current and accessible.

It is time to start planning for our 2010 Matsuri which will have the
theme of the Samurai. If you were a committee chairperson last year,
please make sure the information you need for this year is updated in
your notebook. If you are not planning to be a chairperson this year,
make sure your notes from last year can be passed on to someone else.
Our next general meeting is OCTOBER 18, SUNDAY, 4 pm at Catherine and
Veronica Weser’s house in Eldorado. This will be a meeting first
followed by the movie “Enlightenment Guaranteed” with Pizza and drinks
provided by JIN. The movie is a comedy about two German men who plan
to go to a Temple in Japan for spiritual renewal, and get lost in
Tokyo on the way. Please bring your committee chairperson notebooks to

UPCOMING EVENTS:

NOVEMBER 7, SATURDAY 10 am is a cooking class at Shizuko’s house. She
will teach the traditional cooking of okonomiyaki, a Japanese main
dish pancake. This class will cost $10, which will cover the cost of
the food you will enjoy eating in the class.

NOVEMBER 7, SATURDAY probably from 5 - 8. commemoration of 10 years
of the Santa Fe-Tsuyama Sister City relationship at Warehouse 21. This
will be an interactive robotic experience. More information on this
event will come in the November newsletter.

NOVEMBER 15, SUNDAY 4 pm is a general meeting at Shizuko’s house,
potluck, and planning for the 2010 Matsuri March 13, 2010.


Shohko Café will be hosting its sixth Five-Course Sake Pairing Dinner
on Tuesday, November 17th at 6:30pm. During the dinner, Ayame Fukuda
will give a small presentation before each course, providing tasting
tips and pertinent facts. Cost is $100/person including tax and
gratuity. Space is limited, so please call 982-9708 to register.

DECEMBER 6, SUNDAY General Meeting, time and place TBA

JANUARY 10, SUNDAY is our New Year Celebration held at the Tutorial
School. More information to come.
