Subject: Mobile analytics
Part of my role at WDC is running analytics for our mobile app services. I use Flurry Analytics which offers a great SDK and a web front-end for reporting. They export csv so I can dump the metrics into Excel and hunt for interesting patterns and make fancy charts for management.

However, I'm always looking for alternatives or techniques & tools I can add. Do any of you folks work in analytics and have recommendations to share? I'm also interested in books, courses, websites, etc for expanding analytics & viz skills.

Thanks and happy Friday!

I use R for stats and python + matplotlib for more programmatic stuff. Nodebox for artsy items and sometimes I used Processing.org.

Ymmv. The Swiss site is beautiful.

Thanks. I've heard others talk about Processing as well.

Out of all the sites curated by http://selection.datavisualization.ch/ I
believe http://d3js.org/ is probably the most useful single tool for data
visualization (although everything on that page is worth a look).
