Subject: HS MTB State Championships. SY Team Results

Three members of the Santa Ynez Composite High School Mountain Bike Racing Team competed in the State Championship Race held right in our own back yard at the Dirt Club in Los Olivos on Sunday 5/20/2012. Racers had to qualify through placing during the regular season. A fourth team member had also qualified but was unable to compete due to injury. There were over 520 competitors in the race.

Bryce McKibbin finished 18th in the Division 2 Sophmore boys field while teammate Matt Honeyman was injured when a rider ahead of him crashed. 

Parker Maccianti finished 24th in the Division 2 Freshman boys field. 

This was the first year of mountain bike racing for all the boys on the team.

The Santa Ynez Composite team has members from several different high schools in the Santa Ynez and Lompoc Valleys. Any boy or girl interested in joining the team for next year should contact David Tonello at 805-406-2973 or emailing him at abcy...@aol.com.
