to San Antonio Tango
First: there will be a make up class tonight at 8 at Jazzercise for
yesterday's missed class.

Thank you to those of you that were able to attend the "Gran Milonga"
this past Saturday at Jazzercise. We celebrated the tango moms and it
was well attended. I also thank the milongueros from Austin that
graced our floor with their experienced dancing. The milonga ended at
1 A M.

Dr. Juan Marcos delighted us with his great selection tango music.
His selection of tangos, vals and milongas were a perfect match for
the San Antonio tango community. He started the night with easy
dance-able music and ended the night with a more challenging
selection of tangos. He played tangos from such composers as Edgardo
Donato y Sus Muchachos, Carlos Di Sarli y sus Orquesta, Fransisco
Canaro, y Su Orquesto Tipica, Adolfo Carabelli, Anibal Troilo, Osvaldo
Pugliese, Juan De Dios Filiberto, and many more to mention.
Interestingly enough, he posted on the D J table, the composers of
which music he was playing. I find this very important and educating
to the dancer as he can view the name of the composer and can
associate his music with what he hears and can distinguish and become
familiar with the tangos Argentinos. Muy agradecidos Juan!

The next milonga at Jazzercise will be on May 26, when Mr Fil Cruz
from Austin, make his annual stop in San Antonio to D J the summer
milongas. More to come.

Last but not least thank you to Janet , Howard and Olga that help
decorate and break down everything after the milonga.
